Air core architecture provides a critical advantage in WPT: μ₀=1.0 means zero core loss at the high magnetic field strengths encountered in resonant tank circuits, and zero saturation ensures consistent inductance at any DC bias level from zero to 2A. The inductor is characterized at standard WPT operating frequencies — Qi baseline (100–205kHz), NFC (13.56MHz), and AirFuel Alliance (6.78MHz) — with per-coil data for coupling coefficient k≥0.85 and power transfer efficiency η≥92% at 13.56MHz under 100W load.

Heavy-wire options up to 0.50mm diameter enable current handling up to 2A DC continuous. Silver-plated OFHC copper wire reduces effective series resistance (ESR) at WPT frequencies by 5–8% compared to bare copper, directly improving tank circuit Q and overall system efficiency. Litz wire configurations are available for skin-depth optimization at higher frequencies. The process is repeatable to ±2μm strip length tolerance and preserves the underlying plating integrity (tin, silver, or gold flash).
